What does the photographic preservation of the damage to a vehicle that has been in an accident mean? Actually, it means a lot. For instance, one can infer from the damage to the vehicle what type of collision the vehicle was in. If there is little damage done to the front-end of the vehicle, for example, and lots of damage done to the side of the vehicle, we can logically conclude that the vehicle was in a "T-bone" type accident, which could help to determine who was at fault and, therefore, the reason for an injury. Furthermore, crash re-constructionists can help determine the force with which the vehicle was hit based on how badly the vehicle is damaged. Relative positions, point-of-impact, and other quantitative data, which may determine whether one has a case or not, can be inferred by as little as a simple photograph.
